About MPEJ

Discover our history, mission and values that guide our daily action.

Our History

Founded on June 15, 2022, the Parents, Children, Youth Movement (MPEJ) was born from the alarming observation of a failing child protection and family justice system in Switzerland.

Initially active in the cantons of Vaud and Valais, the movement quickly expanded across French-speaking Switzerland and beyond, responding to a pressing need for support and reform.

Today, MPEJ receives an average of 3 requests for help per day, reflecting the scale of the challenges facing Swiss families.

Our Vision

A society where every child grows up with both parents, where family justice is fair and transparent, and where the fundamental rights of families are respected.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support families in difficulty, promote parental equality and contribute to the improvement of family justice in Switzerland.

Our Support

The Parents-Children-Youth Movement (MPEJ) is regularly solicited in complex family situations, handling an average of two to three requests per day. These requests are made primarily by phone, email, and during individual appointments.

The association offers personalized support, adapted to the specific needs of each parent, taking into account the relational, educational and institutional issues specific to each situation.

In this context, MPEJ intervenes alongside parents in their dealings with child and youth protection services (DGEJ, OPE, SEJ, SPMi), particularly as a trusted person when this presence is requested or accepted by the relevant authorities.

Beyond this role, MPEJ positions itself as a true reference point for parents, providing in-depth support in the areas of parenting and co-parenting. Its support aims to clarify issues, structure approaches and strengthen parents' ability to position themselves in an appropriate, constructive and child-centered manner.

Through its field experience and knowledge of institutional dynamics, MPEJ contributes to fostering better mutual understanding between parents and professionals, with a view to collaboration and de-escalation.

It is important to emphasize that most parents who contact MPEJ have already gone through numerous steps with various institutions. Often exhausted, disoriented and with a sense of injustice, they arrive in a state of deep distress, having largely lost confidence in the system.

In this context, their decision to contact MPEJ reflects above all a determination not to give up their role as a parent, but rather to find hope and solutions to continue being present in their child's life.

In the field, MPEJ observes that in the vast majority of accompanied situations, parents show a real capacity to question themselves when a space of listening and trust is offered to them. This approach gradually allows working on concrete paths, oriented towards more peaceful parenting and co-parenting solutions, in the best interest of the child.

At the request of parents, MPEJ analyzes the case file elements, including administrative and judicial decisions, social reports and assessments. This approach helps identify potential shortcomings in terms of clarity, consistency or transparency. Where appropriate, the association supports the parent in a structured approach, based on objective elements, to foster constructive dialogue with the relevant authorities.
